Of Logging Road Gates and Foundation Grading

It is getting closer to the weekend and I’m getting a bit excited!  Mom is coming up for a visit and we’ll be able to give her a tour of the land.  I’m hoping that when we arrive there on Saturday, we’ll actually see that the front entrance has a new addition: a very sturdy steel pole logging road gate.  These are the suckers that get installed on numerous road entrances along the highway and serve as a secure barrier.  It will do much better than that wimpy chain we’ve currently got strung across the entrance.  Just in time too with the house package arriving on Monday morning.
The other hopeful surprise I’d like to see is that our contractor was able to finish the site grading around the barn area and also move the remaining stump piles to the pasture and out of the way of where the house foundation is going.  So, if all goes well, we should arrive on Saturday morning to see some progress has been made and that we are ready to receive the log home package delivery.
This weekend we intend to reorganize the items we moved up to the barn so that we can set up our temporary kitchen (propane stove and propane refridgerator).  This is really a turning point that will allow me to start spending more time up at the land since we’ll have construction materials on site.
I hope to return Tuesday morning and post plenty of picture of the "arrival"!

It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed material.
