The Mt. Pilchuck Lookout right in front of us

One very unique hike that can be viewed from the front windows of our home is that of the Lookout on Mt. Pilchuck.  Yup, on a clear day, and with the assistance of a strong pair of binoculars you can actually see the lookout shine on the peak of the mountain.

What makes this lookout most accessible is the fact that it exists at the end of a 3 mile hike from a parking lot that used to be the location of an old ski lodge.  Still it is classifed as a moderately difficult hike due to the elevation gains.  But hey, that’s what llamas are for!
