Subfloor begins

Last Thursday, Tim and I headed up to the land for an action packed weekend.  Not only did we have the subfloor construction activities, but we also had our temporary power being hooked up along with our windows being delivered (albeit a bit earlier than needed).  Throw in the mix out of town guests from Wisconsin along with my mom, boyfriend, and niece and it turned out to be jammed with fun!
Our foreman on site for our project was someone new to meet.  Zev, it turns out, seems to have all his ducks in a row and doesn’t mess around.  We quickly took notice of his can do attitude and high regard for quality and little tolerance for laziness.  We love that!   He is the one with the red shirt in the pictures.
So the pictures below were taken over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  As we left the land on Monday morning, the crew was already hard at work installing the heavy floor beams.
While we were out there we took advantage of the fire truck/water tank and rolled out the hose to water our growing pasture…yup, that’s Tim acting out his firefighter fantasy.

About David

Making manifest the change I want to see in the world through the hospitality of a humble little homestead campground with yurts and alpacas.
