What a success! Our first floor log stacking has now been completely stained and sealed with the help of some friends and neighbors who showed up throughout the weekend. It was a fun time and easy work too. Uber the llama just grazed in the field while we all were buzzing around the house. Many thanks go out to all our helpers!!! Check out the photo album for the highlights to the weekend featuring everyone who helped us out.
This week we’ll hopefully see a lot more movement on the house now that the plumbing runs from the house to the barn are laid and they can close the trenches and move the dirt up against the foundation of the house. When that happens the second floor sub-floor joists go in along with the log posts that support the turrets of the second floor. Since the second floor is mostly framed, they’ll be using all that log siding we stained earlier this summer. So, all we’ll have to do is touch up work. That’s a good thing!
