Well the boys have taken to hanging out under the loafing shed again, but as you can see, the snow that fell from the barn roof is still melting away. I would say one more week would be enough to melt most of it away. That’s the thing about snow for us, we may get it, but it doesn’t last through the entire winter. We should be back to normal soon. That will allow us to focus on some of the outside items coming up on the punchlist. In the meantime check out the new llama video clip on You Tube to the right. —>
The order of the day for the crew that is up working on the house is soffits and siding. We’ve pre-stained a bunch of T&G boards for the soffit undreside of the house. This way they go up and they are done.
The front gable is beginning to taken on a more finished look! I am hoping that when I return to the ranch tomorrow, they would have gotten some more of the front done. However, I have a feeling that they are focusing on the sides and back portion, including the corners. The corners are special pieces cut from a log that is part log, part siding. In the picture below you can see a corner piece of siding is installed.
Thursday morning I hoped back into town. Mervyns department store is going out of business. When Glenn found this out, we quickly discovered that all their display cases and shelving units were being liquidated. There are definitely some prospective back-shelving units we are scoping out for our master bedroom closets! I’ll let you know what we find. We may even come back with some display cases for the ranch store.
