It’s Saturday night and we are driving back from what has become a typical late evening run to Home Depot for materials. Tim is up powering through the punchlist with me as the house really is sooooo close that we are thinking next weekend we will be focused on bringing furniture up to the house. We are really hopeful that a final inspection is going to occur sometime within the mid part of this coming week. It all comes down to the ducks being in a row with the excavator guy, the plumber, the electrician, and the flooring guy. If all of these players show up and do their job then Tuesday is the day to call for the inspector. Keep your fingers crossed.
We are running very full days right now starting early in the morning with animal chores and coffee making for the crew. There was a full complement of crew out today, Saturday and they will be back tomorrow. The dirt guy should be back out tomorrow and finish all the grading around the house. Finally we can start planting grass, placing some log barriers, and building some pathways with scavenged bricks.
While my attention gets divided among the crew trying to make sure they have what they need and remove any roadblocks in their way (just plain old good project management), our animals are all enjoying themselves. The dogs are in heaven romping around with each other. The llamas stake out key spots to watch the excavator work. The barn cats are coming out of hiding; a few becoming quite friendly-ish.
