Ahhh, Springtime in the mountains. Meadow fresh breezes, irises pushing through the ground, buds on the trees, grass getting greener… Oh wait a second THAT was February’s weather, I forgot, we are at the end of March. This is when winter makes its last stand around here before we finally think about moving into another season.
By 6pm it was starting to settle in and we had reached the 4 inch mark.
By 8am this morning, Saturday, over a foot of snow was on the ground, and still flurries are drifting down from the sky. If you look really close at the barn, you’ll see the snow has already cascaded off the roof and formed a drift.
Which really summarizes the Springtime snows up here: very unstable. All this snow will be gone by Tuesday or Wednesday of this coming week. So for now, we snuggle in with our doggies and a nice warm sheepskin.
